"A Date Which Will Live in Infamy" speech - Franklin D. Roosevelt (12/8)
This is a speech given by Franklin D. Roosevelt after the Japanese had bombed Pearl Harbor. He is trying to instill courage in the people and exemplify that the Japanese were the enemy. This speech built up nationalism among many Americans.
This is important because it was what brought strength among the people of america and invited them to unify as one. It was the first real speech concerning the war. This was ultimately when america had made the decision to join in on the World War taking place. This would offer a way out of the economy due to increase in wartime production. Alexis S. |
