The First Kennedy-Nixon Presidential Debate: September 26, 1960
It is a transcript of the first presidential debate between Kennedy and Nixon. Both discuss some very controversial issues during the time. Both compare and contrast each others opinions. Each gives examples on why they are more experienced and who is more able to handle the issues going on in America at that time.
This is important because it shows the contrast between both candidates and their views. It is important because it was a determining factor in who would win the presidential election. It allowed for americans to get a clearer view of what their future president planned on doing for America. It was also the first presidential debate that was televised--reason being because many people had slowly begun to purchase a television. This would create a new type of campaign source and an increase political television. Alexis S. |
